When I look at the state of the world today, I sometimes feel distraught. Especially as I see the United States deteriorating almost beyond the point of recognition. So many people hate God. So many people hate Christians. Unfortunately, I think Christians may have a lot to do with why the world hates us– but not entirely. What they hate most is what Christians represent: there is a God, and we are accountable to Him.

I know that God is being patient with humanity, not wanting anyone to perish. That’s why He hasn’t returned as of yet. And I know that I should think more about those who don’t know Christ than my own frustrations. But truth be told, I get so weary of living on this planet that I just want to go home.. now. Today.

Come Lord Jesus!!

That’s why I love Ecclesiastes. It expresses my my thoughts and feelings so well. I especially love Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. It helps put things into perspective when I am overwhelmed with this world and all that I see and hear. It reminds me that there is a time and a season for everything; and that nothing in this earthly life lasts forever.

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven–

A time to give birth and a time to die

A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted

A time to kill and a time to heal

A time to tear down and a time to build up

A time to weep and a time to laugh

A time to mourn and a time to dance

A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones

A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing

A time to search and a time to give up as lost

A time to keep and a time to throw away

A time to tear apart and a time to sew together

A time to be silent and a time to speak

A time to love and a time to hate

A time for war and a time for peace
