“The secret is Christ in me, not me in a different set of circumstances.”
― Elisabeth Elliot (1926-2015) Keep a Quiet Heart
***
Peace and quiet–to many of us they’re just words. Somehow we have allowed the frenetic pace of life to rob us of the quiet, restful moments with God we so desperately need. Keep a Quiet Heart features the rich devotional musings of one of America’s favorite authors and points the way to a deep experience with God, away from the unsettling distractions of day-to-day living.

BBN has a continuing series of documentaries that are called “Stories of Great Christians.” They go back to Fanny Crosby, and probably further back.

I agree. I had the pleasure of meeting her many years ago and she was so gracious and witty. I just love her. ❤️

That must have been very special for you, and for me. Have you heard her story about Jim Elliot’s experience in South America?

Yes, I am very familiar with the story. So sad for her and her daughter, but so great for the spread of the gospel with that tribe and many others.

Thanks posting this article. I always loved the works of Elisabeth Elliott. Her testimony is powerful. I can not even imagine what it must have been like for her to have gone to witness to the same people that killed her husband, Jim. Please keep up your work.

Thanks Goldie! But I had a little (a lot) of help. Though I did add the words myself. 😊

Yes, she was definitely one of a kind. I’m so glad to still be able to read her books and teaching and even listen to her now and then through her website (http://www.elisabethelliot.org/). God bless!

Me too. So sad (for us) that she’s gone. But so wonderful for her!

Agreed! Her teaching is so relevant and to the point. Not to mention scripturally solid, which I think is generally lacking these days. I actually had the privilege of meeting Elisabeth in Phoenix many years ago after one of her conferences. She was very sweet and witty, and I just loved her!
