Why Do I Look at Problems as the Absence of God?

Why do I look at problems as the absence of God?
And why does my faith so easily abandon me?

The rains come. The storms come.
And they will beat upon my house.
This is the reality of life for everyone.

The question is not, Why did this happen?
Or, Why has God allowed it?
But, What can I become because it has happened?

God is in the midst of my situation.
He wraps His arms around me and holds me close.
He is my Refuge in times of trouble.

God is [my] refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore [I] will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.  ~Psalm 46:1-3
